There is a little bit of work to get it to compile (not to mention it takes forever). The first error is that it didn't like the idea of being compiled on OS X ARM. I had a little chat with the configure script, and now it's all good. Also had to make a couple changed to the Makefile. I'll have it in. A deb in a little bit do you don't have to compile it you self. (plus it would probably be on the repo before you'd finishes compiling) it took about an hour and a half for the compilation for me on an ipt4g. Would be faster on the iPad 2. God how I wish I had an iPad. :D

Damn, that is a while. i am on a 3GS, I might have to walk away for a day LOL

Yeah, seems configure is looking for some options, like --host
What changes did you make to the Makefile?

(for all, this btw, is porting. You can not just ./configure, make, make install, you have to modify it for the system you are running on, in order to install it)

modified the configure script to include arm as a valid arch, edit moved one file out of the source (it was trying to interact with the osx clipboard I think) and then commented out references to that file (can't remember the name) also had to comment out a reference to the osx error handler.  Basically if it didn't work I commended it out, rofl.  Packaging it up now.

Alright, it's on the beta repo: ininjas.com/beta not sure if this will break anything so I'm just being cautious for now...if no one has any trouble I'll move it to the regular repo after a while.  Needless to say: upgrade at you own risk.  I haven't experienced any troublem, but that doesn't mean that you wont.  If you have any trouble at all please post about it.

Alright as best as I can tell the python package should work with out issues...now if someone would just install it and open python just to make sure that I didn't leave out any files.....

Congratz sir! All of the porting that ive ever done was on an ipod 2g, so dont think that you have it tough. I just recently bought an ipad 2, but its on 5.0.1, which i believe is currently without a released jb.

I can't find the deb on the repo
Was it deleted because it broke something?
