Web Development
« on: April 14, 2012, 01:52:20 am »
I'm sure this question is asked all the time around here, but what language do you think I should pick up for web development? I'd like to make forum software from scratch (although obviously that's a ways away). Right now I'm thinking I should learn php, then html, then sql? I have some basic programming understanding, and I'm not afraid to try a difficult language, but I'd like your ideas on where I should start. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated :)

Learn HTML first as it is the base, then php and JavaScript ( apparently jquery is the best way)

You should first learn HTML and CSS, and then PHP and Javascript. The last SQL. And when you actually control this languages you should learn some SEO (search engine optimization) and SEM (search engine marketing).
Languages I know:
PHP
HTML
CSS
Javascript(Basic)

I agree, though I'd put JavaScript before PHP. (& get rid of the last 2)

Well the last two are for making your web popular. The SEO is just coding your web following some easy rules, it is better if you learn just the basics.
Languages I know:
PHP
HTML
CSS
Javascript(Basic)
