Trcx528 said he fixed the tar package just update it if you can. If not then down load the package via ssh and install it manually with iFile. There was no fix when i did it i just dowloaded a new tar.zip from cydiacrawler via safari and unpackaged the file in the directories that each one specified. Good luck i hope this helps at all it took me about weeks to fix my phone but i started knowing nothing and im on an iPhone 4s so i had no choice i cant restore with no current jailbreak available

Yeah i reran the jailbreak but i kept having configuration errors when it came to turning on VPN with the jailbreak profile. Besides if i restored i would be on 5.1 which doesn't have a jailbreak available for A5 devices and you can't stitch blobs yet for an A5 so i couldn't do a custom restore either. Even if i could of did a custom restore it sounds like it wouldnt have helped with tar it didn't fix the problem for this guy on another thread he  said he restored twice and still cant install. I was just trying to help him with the problem i just fixed. If i can lol it was a pain in the butt lol.

^have you read the topic I am mentioning? All iOS are jailbreakable now on all iDevices.
I'm not saying it will fix tar issue, just correcting the statement that iOS on 4s is not jailbreakable.

Sorry if I'm a little behind or sound ignorant it's not intentional I've just been buisy getting my phone back how i like it but are you saying there is a jailbreak for the iPhone 4s on IOS 5.1 or 5.1.1? Or that you can now stitch blobs for on an A5 for a custom restore? Again apologies if im misunderstanding

No problem. Search Redsn0w 0.9.10b8b.
Yes there is a jb option for those firmwares. Just check the details :) and FYI 5.1.1 had no patches added so jb for 5.1 works on 5.1.1.
Have a look at topic I mentioned to see if the JB for iOS is acceptable. :)

Quession for Trcx. Should i upgrade the tar package from the beta repo that has the fix. I've been a little nervous to do it thought i would ask first. Everything seems to be working fine accept one package from boss showed the incompatible library and safari no longer gives me the "OPEN IN" options so no PDF downloading. Minor stuff i know but thought I'd ask. Thanks

Yes, you should upgrade to the lastest version of tar.  There are no known issues with it.  I believe that the incompatible library is libiconv, and I will be investing t hat package further because it was giving me some trouble the other day.
