Use both iAHT freedom and then the command that C0de posted. It doesn't expand your partition (correct me if im wrong C0de) but it moves/frees up a lot a room that iTunes hogs up. For me it gave me about 3/4 of that 1.2G to use for what i want. Thanks C0de :^)

You are correct. As far as I know, without a custom restore, it is impossible to repartition your device's flash memory. These commands simply either delete unneeded files/folders, or they move them to the data partition, which is MUCH larger than the root partition.

Jailbreak with sn0wbreeze to get a larger root partition next time. You can set root size to whatever you want.
