I would really appreciate that!
All devs would ;)

I'm actually using this app to learn python now I don't know if it's a good choice for a noob to be programer. But from what I read the developer has to stay within apples boundaries and certain implantations have to be o.k.'d by them also I'm wondering If I'm better off using the terminal ?

Actually it's a pretty good little app I think. It seems to be a good little IDE for learning python when you have a little time to kill and don't have a computer handy.

Does anyone know of a 3.x python environment?
I'm trying to port a little python script to ios, and although there is a python 3.2 app or something, I'd also appreciate if someone would actually port a newer version of python, because the app has terrible ratings and I need to use a 3rd party module that requires >python 2.7.

Does anyone know what kind of knowledge would be required to port a newer python? I seriously doubt I could do it yet, but I'm curious.

Great advice uber. If you ask me, first try just running the third party module. Then figure out what the error message you get means. If it requires a module that python doesn't have, search for modules available to the python version you are using, and see if they can replace the missing module you need to run your third party module.

Ive managed to install some stuff on my iPod. Generally it just takes a little bit of general know how. Read the living hell out of error messages. You hate them, but an error message is your best friend in the whole world when you are doing this. I cannot stress that enough. People always post asking for help porting, then they send a screenshot of an error message and it becomes plain as day.

Also, Google is your next best friend. If you dont know what a particular error is, look it up. If you dont know how to do what the solution to that error message is, look that up. You have to think on your feet to do it. You wont ever get far if you ask for help as soon as you hit a wall. Work at it for a little bit, try some other solutions, look around online. If you *still* cant get past that, then post every scrap of relevant info on it, most importantly error messages, steps you took, software/dependencies you installed to fix those errors, modifications to fix it, etc and we can do our best to help.

Should be a sticky on what to do before asking

No it's in a sandbox. But still I thought they didn't allow stuff like this?
They don't allow downloading code and running it. However scripting/interpreted languages are find. Angry birds uses Lua to define each level. And there's a full lua IDE that allows you to write apps on device and then later package them up in a skeleton Xcode project to release into the AppStore it's called Codea and it's been around for a while. Apple is lessening the restrictions a little bit here and there and focusing on the parts it actually cares about.
