MobileTerminal (Obsolete)?
« on: June 04, 2012, 02:57:32 pm »
Does this new version have the same functionality as thr ninjas version? It now says (obsolete) next to my installed version. Has anyone upgraded and should I or do i even have a choice?

I have not explored the new version, but I expect all the same functionality.  Once I play with it a little bit it will likely end up on the repo/

K. I guess i will just upgrade it. I just didn't want to loose the scrolling and copy/paste features that you implemented. Also it wants to remove autoinstaller and hacktool hub. Is there a way around this or would i have to re-install the hacktool hub?

The Auto Installer and Hack Tool Hub are dummy pacakages and removing them will not result in any loss of functionality, all the packages are is a large list of dependancies triggering the download of the tools.

After reviewing the change logs, literally NOTHING has changed except for the package ID, which is what's causing the trouble.  Then new mobile terminal package id is MobileTerminal-AppleSDK vs MobileTerminal

I was on #theos when Optimo mentioned he did this. Something about wanting it hosted on BigBoss and not 3rd party repos

Yes, he submitted the app to bigboss under the new package id, as to avoid breakage.

SSH is like mobile terminal over the Internet. Mobile terminal allows you to run commands directly on your iPod to use tools that dont have an app and all the pretty pictures and buttons to go with it.

Finally! Someone that dropped out of touch years ago submitted the original package & that means they won't update it because the original author needs to.
Glad he's uploaded the new one finally, and in a way to avoid most problems.

Edit: wow just spotted the date on the original post. WOW I'm out of date!!
