Does C compiler work otherwise? Have you compiled c programs into executable files?

If so, check the version of gcc required by this program to build and check this against the version you use
If I help you or you appreciate my work, clicking that +1 button is the best thanks I could get.

My opinions are my own, you may agree or disagree with them, but they are only just that; opinions
For example: facebook is the microsoft of social networks

I have version 4.2.1 and it requires anything lower than 5 so it should work

Try this:

echo '#include <stdio.h>
int main(void) { printf("C compiler works!\n"); return 0; }' >/tmp/test.c && gcc -o /tmp/test /tmp/test.c && ldid -S /tmp/test && /tmp/test || echo 'C compiler is broken...'

If it prints out "C compiler works!" then guess what? Your C compiler works! :P
