N900 or Android?
« on: September 07, 2012, 09:40:32 am »
I'm looking for a new smartphone which will be focused on pentesting. Obviously the N900 has the most broad array of working hack tools, monitoring mode etc...but I've recently been reading about new android developments where these things become possible on android (eg: GS3). I guess I could always install nitdroid on the N900...

So which should I go for?

N900. Period. Trust me, I have tried using android for this, and it is impossible.

He probably already has an iPhone. He wants an N900 or an Android so he can use monitor mode, etc. which the iPhone does not support right now. iPhone's are great tools for hacking, but other phones support more when it comes to stuff like this.

I'm 99% sure that android hasn't been successfully put into monitor mode.

Is there no advantage to, say, the GS3's 1gb of RAM? Would that not come into play - among other hardware specs which outdo the n900?

It's always good to have as much RAM as you can get. But it's pointless if the device software can't fully run what you want it to.

Wait, can't you run Backtrack on Android? Or even with Backtrack is the N900 still superior?
