Delete your USB driver and reinstall it.

First, see if there is an updated driver from your motherboard manufacturer

Do you have any USB add-in cards, or are all ports on the motherboard, or plugged directly to motherboard?

Is this a clean Win7 install, or an "upgrade"?

Try checking windows system files, run this
Code: [Select]
sfc /scannow
If sfc is clean, and there are no new USB drivers from MoBo manufac., then remove ALL USB devices to reinstall. In the Device Manager screen, rt-click on white space and Show Hidden Devices. Remove ANY hidden device, USB related or not. Then remove every controller listed under USB controllers. Then reboot
If I help you or you appreciate my work, clicking that +1 button is the best thanks I could get.

Hey Grinch, I will check all that stuff when I'm at my PC. But as for the questions, it is a fresh factory install of Win7, and I'd you mean wireless adapters by USB add in cards, then yeah, my Alfa is plugged in.

Did you try putting the Alfa drivers on in Linux? Maybe that's the problem. I don't know for sure but that would be my guess of the day.

So windows files are OK. I would update the USB drivers. If that does not fix issue, then try that USB troubleshooting I listed earlier
