Websecurify
« on: November 13, 2012, 07:51:08 pm »
I just found this in the app store and it looks super cool! It seems to be a platform for scanning web applications from your iDevice. Seems a bit pricy, but I might try it out because I've had a good amount of success with its Linux counterpart.

I actually got this when it first came out. It was cheaper then. It takes awhile to run a scan but it seems to do a good job.

The vulnerabilities listed are overrated. If the forum was locked down any tighter we wouldn't hardly be able to get in. Lol!!

You don't think a website made by (real) hackers is going to be easy to get into?

We ain't braggin about anything. It is uber-easy to break into the box here. Not trying to challenge anyone.
That being said, we don't have any glaring vulnerabilities. That program is probably reminding us we are running a web server on port 80 and allow ssh login on port 22. Both potential points of attack, but necessary for the sites operation

Agreed. Too expensive, imo. Especially for tools we already have, for free

One flag was about which server type we are running. Lol!! Like NMap wouldn't tell you that. And the others are basically what grinch said. We aren't bullet proof. But we're in better shape than most.

The app isn't worth the money IMO.
We have stuff on our repo that will do the same thing and quicker. Save your money for games or tunes.

Exactly. And if anyone wants an app and doesn't want to be stuck in the command like all the time, then try the Nmap GUI! It's pretty good!

Good point Godman! +1
I think if people just learned to use nmap from the command line. Add your favorite scan commands to the shortcut list in Terminal. They would use it more and not look for programs like this.
