I think it captures packets.... has to run for hours to sniff enough traffic (if I remember correctly, but very possible i'm wrong).

EDIT: I was wrong it is a bruteforcer. here is a topic discussing the tool.

Yeah, I was about to say, iOS doesn't have monitor mode.

You don't need monitor mode for brute forcing, it just just sends a bunch of connection requests to th router with different passwords untill it connects.

I think he was referring to Lank's idea of what 5dWifi does.

I know, but you said that you thought 5dWiFi had a WPA2 attack that captured a bunch of packets. And then I said "I didn't think that iOS had monitor mode" which is required for capturing packets.

you have to have a handshake first off, then you can bruteforce using a wordlist

You can't initiate the handshake without MONITOR MODE though.

Both of you are wrong. Bombed, you can bruteforce without a handshake capture. All you have to do is loop a connection script to keep connecting with various passwords. It is orders of magnitudes slower than a handshake-capture crack, but it is in fact possible. And godman, If you can't do a WPA handshake, you can't authenticate to the AP. No authentication, no connection. Just to make sure you guys know.
