Im running Windows 7 on a Acer Aspire 5538 with an AMD Athlon(tm) X2 L310. I checked the specs, I also used an app that starts with an "s" to determine if my machine had AMD-V or virtualization capability and it does.
Although my laptop is/was the best model at the time it's missing the Advanced options in startup bios so I can't see if it's enabled or or not. I have BackTrack running in virtualbox, but I get "hardware not supported" when I try launching Mountain Lion from VMWare. VirtualBox starts the hackboot1 loader but after selecting the img and try booting it the screen goes blank.
I've attempted by converting my installesd.dmg into a iso, vmdk and rar file (to install from sd card) with no luck.

Good to provide more detail
What version os Win7 are u running as host, x32, x64?
What version of backtrack are you running in VM guest, x32? x64?

You think you have AMD-V bc some program running in windows API said so, but you can not find the option in your CMOS?

More detail won't help in this situation:
I think mac needs an intel processor, can't do AMD

This is very likely your issue

Thanks, but I've seen that video. Im going to try upgrading the CMOS if I can, it's an InsydeH20. My host is Windows 7 x64, I have VMware Workstaion and I run BT5R3 x32 in VirtualBox. I forgot to mention the users manual I found online says its supported and that I should have Advanced Options.
