I just tried this on my Iphone 4s..and it went into set up new phone mode and then the wifi & 3g stoped working like metablog did. :-\

But i fixed it by doing this..

jailbreak it & install OpenSSH
ssh into it via cable & IFunbox (Google it)
Type nvram -d wifiaddr 
Type reboot
then it went back into set up new phone mode, set it up
restore again
Fixed  :)

Yah. It's supposed to go into setup new phone mode. I did it on my iPod touch 3G and wifi still worked. Obviously I couldn't test for cellular, so maybe something's different!

i have a comment and question. i used this tut and didnt want to restore. i changed my mac and new iphone setup popped up. then i connected to local wifi ( wifi has one hour limit hence mac spoofing)  and it let me back into my phone but without apps working (as expected).

Comment: i went into appstore after this and clicked update on an app and it started updating. now my apps can open again without reboot or restore and still have spoofed mac.

Question: will this mess anything up if i continue to spoof this way? so far no problems but i havent tried messing around much.

Iphone 4 cdma
IOS 5.1.1

If you read the post and comments, reinstalling apps will make them work. Can spoof and reinstall as much as you need!

Hi man and thanks for the reply...
My iPad is only wifi (not 3g).
I just jailbreak my device, but i can't install nothing because i have no internet connection on it.
mikev619619 can i install .deb or app from my pc to the device?
You say install OpenSSH, but, again i have no internet on device :(

You need to be connected to the LAN for openssh, no connection to the internet is necessary, you just have to be on wifi. But if that;s not possible either, use ifunbox

My wifi doesn't working. So i can't install Openssh or anything else.
With IfunBox, what can i do? Can i install Openssh or else from it?
IF yes, how can i do it? I'm googling it, but i don't find the right keywords...

Go to Iwatcher .net and search for OpenSSH and download it. Then with Ifunbox you should still be able to browse the raw system. Now follow from step 4 at this website http://yuwienetwork.blogspot.com/2012/01/how-to-auto-install-deb-file-on-iphone.html?m=1
