netgear wg111v3/backtrack5

hey

i need some insight on getting backtrack 5 to recognize my netgear wg111v3
device. i'm able to network but when it comes to getting airmon-ng to display an
interface i'm lost. i can network with out the netgear USB connected directly to
vmware but it works fine bridged. i have been googling like crazy and have not come across a solution.

Try doing a live boot into bt to see whether it is a problem with the card/drivers or with the virtual interface through vmware

The net gear USB worked fine after a hard install
but theres some work arounds that I would have to perform
in order to get injection working. My version of the net gear USB supports the needed feature for airmong. I'm just going to order a compitible device.
