Not surprised either. It does appear that universities may need better security though. If the Chinese are using them as a hub to attack other computer networks from. Then they better get locked down more.

Yeah Unis need to secure their networks better. Important security information is often sent out on paper memo to all students in public "mailboxes", posted on bulletin boards, etc

I warn kids I know that are off to college to protect their machines. Where I went to school, it was a warzone, 0wn or be 0wned, amongst students. Campus network security was a joke. Campus computers were not protected well, used outdated systems like VAX VMS, used one common password for all students for certain services, etc

Wow!! That borders on criminal negligence!! Or if nothing else, an accomplice or aiding and abetting.

Do they just not take their security seriously??
