Yup that's exactly what the though is.  The new processor removed the backwards compatibility that many programs use.

So it wouldn't be anything to do within the kernel level?

I'm just wandering why would a hardware component affect the operation of a language unless there is supplemental change on the kernel level. It only gets weirder when after searching for any variations in the kernel of the newer devices, apple doesn't openly report any variances. In other words it still uses version 13.

Or maybe a change in its XNU frameworks.

Hey Trcx, let me know when you want to do this. I'll let you in my iPhone 5. I'll send you all the info you need. Just send me a text when you want it.

<%a12danrulz> Idk, but doing a DoS from an apple device is like fighting a bear with a plastic spork

I've downloaded llvm/clang, what would you like me to do now?

I'm guessing there's no way to do what the first commenter here did ?

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10177038/illegal-instruction-4-shows-up-in-os-x-lion

I'm hoping there's a simple fix, but I doubt it. Which sucks because SET and msf are half the reason I bother jail breaking.

That might be possible, but that doesn't really address the underlying issue that the toolchain is getting old, sauriks gcc was compiled in the early days of iphones and since then things have really changed

I wonder how hard it is to set up a cross-compiler on linux for arm-darwin.  I was able to get one going with a program called buildroot for my nokia N9, but that is a linux kernel and not darwin.  That would be so sick if you could build iOS apps with QT and compile them on your PC without any problems.

There is a project aimed at building llvm for an arm-darwin I know quite a few people that have it working.
