iPod app on iPhone
« on: February 10, 2013, 04:48:57 pm »
Is there a way or a tool for editing the iTunes DB  so a song can be copied directly into an ifile directory and played using the iPod app on the iPhone?

I understand music is stored in the,
/var/root/Media/iTunes_Control/Music,
Directory, but just placing the song in the directory isn't enough. There has to be a database file that points to the song in a way that the iPod app understands and I don't know how to do that, or if its even possible.

I could really use some guidance here.

Go to Cydia and get PwnTunes. It lets you copy music directly to your device with no need for iTunes at all. It works from any computer.

I think he doesnt want the hassle of having to do it through one of thouse, but instead he wants it to go automatically into the tunes without the click or loading of any apps besides the one he used to get the music??? Is this right kolyma cause if it is no one has done it yet...i think..... And your best options wre already stated above

I'm not sure about Mewseek. I haven't used it. But PwnTunes adds folders to iTunes and makes it possible to play the music you add from the iPod app. I bought it and it was money well spent.

MewSeek you can search for song on the internet and download them or put any song using ifile
like he asked in var/mobile/media/downloads and edit the tags like name, album, etc & sync them
to the ipod app on your Iphone etc.

PwnTunes sounds really good too though.

problem about this is piracy eich isn't allowed here. But mewseek is great for importing miscalaneous mp3  audio files into the ipods library. Another alternative is a free app(i think) called bridge that can import any audio file into your library with the ability to edit al physical apperances if the file when in the misic library. But pwn tunes does sound great because it adds folders that if i read right have the imported music in them.......and also doing album artwork and the names really blows because it is time consuming

Bridge is a paid for app. It is very good. It works really well with Pro Tube 2. With both of those you can get the audio from a You Tube video and import it into your iPod app. It will also import the video.

@Kipalo : yup. It installs folders in the system. The iPod app reads from the My Music folder or the Music folder.

There is also a Misc. folder you can use as USB storage. >:D

Timmy : "Oh Teacher, can I charge my iPod from the computer while I do my school work?"

Teacher : "Sure Timmy, you're such a good    student."

Computer : "I don't feel well."

@Ironman Nice story :P And I despise iTunes so I use bridge in the go with CopyTransManager on my computers. CopyTrans is great because its packed into one executable so it's portable and works quite well for syncing everything but apps(backups and restorations as well)

I've never been able to figure out why an Apple product is so good, and iTunes sucks so bad!!
